Bixby

Bixby straddles two counties – Tulsa and Wagoner, and is a suburb of Tulsa. We are a growing community — in 2010 we became the 19th largest city in Oklahoma as people recognize the beauty and uniqueness of our city. Our roots are in the land, and despite our rapid growth, we remain the sod growing center as well as a popular plcae for growing and purchasing fresh vegetables.

Here’s another reason that Bixby is such a popular place — we boast the highest per capita income ($36k+) in the  Tulsa Metropolitan area — that’s more than 150% higher than the state average.  And we also have a low crime rate, making it a safe place to settle down. We were also made CNN  Money.com’s list of 100 Best Places to Live (we were No. 67) and according to the 2015 Safewise survey, the 12th safest city in the State of Oklahoma.

Despite our growth, we have retained a friendly, small town feel with beautiful neighborhoods, churches and other community amenities.  Our school system is top-notch and are a major factor that most new residents considered before moving here. We are a young community and we are building for the future.

We love the outdoors and want to pass this love onto our children. That’s just one reason why we have some of the most extensive trail system in the Tulsa area. Bixby’s regional, 115 acre Bentley Youth Sports Park was recognized for top design in the state by the Oklahoma Recreation Sports Society and best splash pad design by Aquatics International magazine.  In addition to Bentley Youth Sports park we have Washington Irving Park (home of the BBQ ‘n Blues Festival, Charley Young Park (host to the Green Corn Festival) and Lake Bixhoma for our neighbors who enjoy fishing.
